Day 16 cont.

1145pm

No real updates for the day. There has been no change neurologically. We still await the medication that was inducing a coma to be fully cleared from his system, although the level was already very low yesterday. We spent time tonight praying, reading some scriptures and singing a hymn with Lucas. I played a couple of Lucas' own recordings for him. How I wish I could feel him squeeze my hand as I hold his...

We are so grateful for your continued prayers and words of encouragement and offers of help in the comments and on facebook, email, etc. I wish I could respond to each of you--know that I read and treasure every message sent. You are all such a blessing during this time. We feel greatly loved.

God is good.

  1. GOD IS ABLE. He is almighty GOD. EL SHADDI! HE is the GREAT HEALER. I am claiming his victory for your family. Rest assured that God has never left Lucas, and is there for you to find comfort in HIS arms. I will continue to pray for your family, and thank GOD for bringing you this far. And I am praising HIM for the victory ahead! I Peter 5:6-11 Debbie F MFP

  3. I am praying that Lucas will move his fingers and toes to show you that he can hear you--which I believe he can.

Lord, please show us that You hear us and answer speedily! Please heal Lucas' brain--reconnect the broken neurons and axons...wake him up!

Give Burnie, Tina and Spencer patience, hope and supernatural strength for today.

We know You hear us...please answer quickly.

    Psalm 66:19

  4. We love you guys and are praying for you all. May God give you and Tina the grace to show the hospital staff the love and confidence in Christ today. He is working all these things together for your good, as we know you love Him and are called according to His purpose. Jake and Dean have been able to spend some time this past week with Spencer, and we are praying that the Lord will draw him to Himself through this trial in his life. Pilgrim Bible was happy to see him at church Sunday night, and we all had a good time talking with him. You are in our thoughts and prayers all day long. We love you and can sympathize with you in this infirmity.
Love, Jake, Mel and even mom, Linda

  6. Your daily journal of your walk of faith through this valley will be a precious heritage to your children and grandchildren.
For you, dear parents, a promise from our dear Lord and Savior: But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:26&27

I pray that the Holy Spirit will bring to your heart, soul, spirit and mind, the Word for comfort, strength and guidance.

Know that even while you sleep and rest Christ Jesus is interceding for you to raise you up as more than conquerors and that nothing can separate you from God's love. Romans 8:31-39

    For your dear son, Lucas,

As I have read your blog daily, his physical condition has seemed to be a slippery slope and a place where some things have been stuck without progress. So I prayed Psalm 40:1-3 for him. The verses are below the prayer.

I pray for his heart, soul, mind, body and spirit to respond to the Spirit's call and healing so that he will be set on a firm place to stand. And that you and your family will hear a new song of praise on Lucas' lips, so that many will trust the LORD because of His mighty work.

I waited patiently for the LORD,
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
Out of the mud and mire,
He set my feet on the rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
    Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
    Psalm 40:1-3

    You are loved.
    Because of His great love,
    Deon (from BSF)

Because of LORD's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
    Lamentations 3:22-23
