Day 17

315pm

The pentobarbital level is now negligible. Lucas is no longer in an induced coma, but there is as yet no significant neurological response. We continue to pray for the Lord to work mightily in healing his brain.

Please pray for continued strength, courage, and especially wisdom for all of us.

We love you all.

God is good.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Burnie, Tina, Lucas and Spencer, I believe that even though you may not see significant neurological response, a mighty healing is taking place. Praise God, He is in control!

I lift up mine eyes unto the hills from which cometh my strength-
You are wise and strong and we are with your family in our small ways

  3. Burnie and Tina,
You, Lucas and Spencer are daily in my prayers. I am praying that God will strengthen you and give you courage and wisdom. Praying also that God will keep His mighty yet gentle healing hand on Lucas. Praying if it be His will that Lucas will make a full recovery and be used by God for His glory. He is already using you more than you know. You are such a blessing to me. Thank you for your testimony and your faithfulness.
Psalm 138: (The Lord's goodness to the faithful)
1-I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
2-I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth. For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3-In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul.
6-For great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He regards from afar off.
7-Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.
8-The Lord will perfect that which coincerns me:
    Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

  4. Burnie, Tina, and Spencer,

My family and I continue to join our faith with your faith regarding Lucas' purchased healing on the Cross at Calvary BY the stripes of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour. We continue to believe and profess our confessions of faith based upon the WORD of ALMIGHTY GOD. Please know that throughout the day and when we awaken from slumbering we praise GOD for HIS faithfulness to HIS WORD regarding Lucas' healing and your ENTIRE family and the families you requested that we lift up in prayer. JESUS IS LORD!

  5. As I listen to the storm outside, I am reminded of the storm your family is going through and it reminds me to say another prayer.
Remember that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
We will continue to pray for Lucas and your entire family.
    Love,
    Sarah and family

  10. Burnie, Tina and Spencer...... Every day we check on Lucas' status and every day (and night) we pray for healing for him and wisdom, peace and rest for you three. May you all find a place of rest and trust in the One who holds Lucas in the palm of his hand. We love you. Isaiah 30:15

  11. You could hear a pin drop today at church when Tripp broke down to tears talking about the pain you are going through, and how God is THERE. You could hear a pin drop in our car after we heard a song that made us think of you. The song said "I can't see the face of God because I'm in my temporary home". Today at church, Tripp talked about when Jacob saw the face of God, and how God shielded him so he would not die. The face of God, Jesus. The face of God is there with you now, in Spirit to shield you.

  12. Hi Burnie, Tina nd Spencer.
I got back from Mexico last nite and want you to know my team prayed daily for Lucas.
God is mighty to save and His mercies are new every morning.
You know, I'm sure, that so often unconscious people later tell us they'd heard every word but couldn't respond, so keep on talking to Lucas, reading to him, singing to and loving him - by God's grace I feel sure he hears and is comforted.
I'm praying for that miracle and for your rest, strength, endurance, faith and peace, too.
    MUCH love,
    Betsy C.
