Funeral arrangements III

We plan on having some time during the service if anyone wants to share about Lucas. Also, if anyone is interested in performing any music, perhaps instrumentally, either before the service or softly during the time of sharing, feel free to bring your guitar or other instrument...

We plan to gather at the Spotted Dog after the service...

God is good.

  1. Much love to you. Undoubtedly this blog is a testimony to what it looks like to live by faith in God's promises. You allow God all the glory and it is meaningful to anyone seeing it.

Here is more wonderful help from God's word:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:3-9

  2. I have to work today, which distresses me so. I wish I could be there. Please know my thoughts are with Lucas and your family. Lucas was friendly to everyone he met. He was very intuitive about other people's feelings and set out to make people happy and see their worth. He loved to make people laugh and he always had an ear for anyone who needed someone to talk to. I am forever touched by his grace and belief in self. He taught me alot and I am forever grateful to have known him. God bless.

    Sincerely,
    Mike

  3. Burnie, Tina and Spencer, I have been following along with you all these last weeks. I have often wanted to be able to be there to pray over Lucas but am thankful that God has provided people there to do that I have prayed at work, when swimming and when I wake up in the middle of the night. I am thankful that God has been with you all during this time. I am hurting with you and will continue to pray for you guys...for peace, rest and healing. Love, Miranda

  4. I've been thinking about you all through the day, and my prayer is that you have felt the love and comfort of Jesus through the hugs and kind words of your friends and family there in North Carolina. Know that your friends here in Washington are with you in spirit and in prayer, too.

    Love,

    Bill & Jean

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2
