Funeral arrangements II

Funeral arrangements have been finalized as noted in the previous post.

In lieu of flowers I know that Lucas would appreciate that you consider either a monetary or non-perishable food donation to the Interfaith Council Community House Kitchen, 110 W. Main St.,
Carrboro, NC 27510. Phone: (919) 967-0643. www.ifcweb.org

Please consider also writing out a page or so of your special memories of Lucas as also noted in the previous post.

Thank you for your continued prayers for our family. We love you all.

God is good.

  1. My heart is breaking for you now. I have a 24 year old son and love him dearly. I cannot imagine your grief but, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I believe, as you do, that Lucas has been healed. Our thoughts and prayers are that God with His precious Holy Spirit will give you all peace that passes understanding. We know that HIS grace is sufficient for you. As you feel like it please keep us posted on how you all are doing. I feel I know your son & family from your daily posts even though I've never met them. Peace be to you all.

  2. I remember the days when Ryan and I were sent over to the Little house for a week or so while my parents when on vacation! I distinctly remember hanging out with Lucas and Spencer going on the lake in the back yard and attempting to catch sights of the blue herons that frequented the water. We would go to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor after we got minute maid lemonaid can drinks..and I remember Lucas always offering to go get a drink for both Ryan and me. Lucas was so considerate and kind, even when Spencer would get a little rowdy. Ryan was recounting the other day from that trip to your house an incident where Spencer was getting angry about a mistake Ryan had made in a card game and how Lucas swiftly came to the rescue by choking Spencer out. Even if he was a bit overkill with his reaction, Lucas really did have a loving heart and he did make Ryan and my stay at your house much more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, Spencer was a blast too, but I just remember Lucas' considerate actions and kind protection. I can also remember what a great soccer player he was on FHE.. I used to admire his straight shot and how powerful he could kick the ball! Being only an 8th grader on the team, I naturally looked up to the older players, and Lucas played and acted like a captain of the team, always making others look good and encouraging us younger players on the field. I know these memories are pretty distant and long in the past, but I wanted to share the memories I had of Lucas, so maybe these will bring a loving memory to your hearts in this time of grief. My heart goes out to you all, and I know this time is very difficult; however, God has so much more in store for him that we can ever know. Keep strong and remember that trials build spiritual maturity.

    In Christ, Morgan Harrison
