Day 8 cont

Lucas' blood pressure continues to remain borderline with no room to adjust his primary medication. The doctors are starting an additional medication to try to keep his blood pressure up. Thank you for continued prayer.

  1. Tina and Burnie, the strength of your faith both shames me and strengthens me at the same time. While I have never prayed harder in my life than for Lucas to completely recover, I find that, through your blog, I am able to remind myself that God is with even me in the comparably small concerns of my life. I know that He is with us and I will continue to pray strongly as you have asked and for the things you have asked.

  4. Adoni, we ask for your strength and power in the life of Lucas Little. Reach him in the places we cannot, love him as we are not able and heal him by the Holy Spirit as we know only You can. With Christ let him rest and in your knowledge and plan we have complete trust. Help us to be faithful and at peace in harmony with your will. We love You and those that you create. Amen

  5. My son was in an accident on 7/5/03 and suffered traumatic brain injury - his right ganglia swelled, he had axonal shearing (white and gray matter pulled apart as well as the right and left halves), he had some bleeding on the mid brain and some random bruising. He was a 3 on the coma scale and the doctors gave us no hope. But they installed a brain probe to monitor the pressure, did not let us touch him or talk to him - no stimulation of any kind - so we prayed and watched over him. One of us was in his room 24/7 to watch everything. He got c diff from the antibiotics and I had to fight to get him probiotics to heal his gut - please be sure that Lucas is getting them. He got MRSA in his trach site.
His friends came and waited with family in the waiting room - that was a comfort to us and them. Finally the docs let others visit for 2 minutes at a time. We got to know the patient reps well and they were able to get us answers when we needed them. Don't try to do everything on your own - accept whatever help you are comfortable with, get some rest and eat healthy - I know it is hard.

Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

    Kathy
